“An Evening With Women” Benefiting the LA Gay & Lesbian Center « Feminist Lab

It made me proud that Ken and Bean on KROQ featured LA Ink’s Kat Von D this morning advertising her involvement in the An Evening With Women fundraiser happening this Saturday, May 1st at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Keven and Bean aren’t exactly known their activism but behind their debauchery they actually support quite a few good causes.  Getting information out about woman’s health needs and the LGBT community to the KROQ community is pretty awesome. Check out the entire interview.

An Evening With Women is an annual event that raises much-needed funds for the women-specific services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center.  This year’s event features host Gina Gershon and several big stars including Linda Perry, Renee Zellweger and Sarah Silverman.  The LA Gay & Lesbian Center provides many great services for the local community including free HIV/AIDS care and medications for those most in need; housing, food, clothing and support for homeless LGBT youth; support and advocacy services for LGBT seniors and LGBT-parented families.

About Kimberly Smith

is a writer and thinker. She has recently found her mission in life: to be an advocate for women. She thrives holed up in her office writing to the world about what she sees and is always wondering if anyone is listening. She has rejected the color pink since she was four (no exaggeration, there is photographic evidence) and now recognizes the significance of this rejection--not of the color itself, but of the representation of women as damsels in distress waiting for their prince charming to come to the rescue.
